About the role

  • Provide expert actuarial support to business units in pricing and reserving. Act as a liaison with underwriters and finance teams while coaching junior actuaries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert actuarial advice and support to business units
  • Act as a key liaison with underwriters, claims, and finance teams
  • Deliver strategic reserving advice and contribute to business planning
  • Coach junior actuaries to ensure technical excellence and profitability
  • Manage the complete valuation process and project scope
  • Develop new monitoring and ad-hoc reports as required
  • Know and apply relevant standard actuarial reserving models and pricing techniques
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to less experienced actuarial staff
  • Ensure all conclusions and recommendations are supported by analytical results
  • Manage budgeted resources and accurately forecast resource needs

Requirements

  • Moderate relevant experience
  • Experience working within the actuarial function in a multinational financial services business
  • Solid relevant General Insurance experience
  • Property and casualty actuarial field experience
  • Experience with actuarial analyses or predictive modeling
  • Increasing levels of responsibility
  • Reserving experience
  • Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Relevant Actuary society certification, such as Fellow-Casualty Actuary Society (FCAS) or Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) or IFOA
