About the role

  • Leading the technical writing for content creation efforts for the university’s website, ensuring clarity, consistency, and engagement
  • Collaborating with faculty, staff, and departments to craft content for program pages, department pages, and more
  • Using tools like Semrush to measure performance and interests in order to make data-informed recommendations
  • Partner with UX designer to develop infographics and visual content that enhance storytelling across webpages
  • Leveraging ChatGPT (or similar platforms) to improve content creation workflows and output
  • Serving as the execution engine in driving content-focused marketing campaigns and projects from concept to completion
  • Managing and mentoring student writers and interns, ensuring high-quality deliverables and growth
  • Building and maintaining a scalable content crafting system for ongoing website content updates
  • Publishing and optimizing content across PLNU’s main digital communication channels including the websites SEO and GEO efforts as well as advertising platforms
  • Leading in the development and execution of resource content strategies with student and outsourced writers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical topics to a non-technical audience
  • 1-2 years of previous work experience or significant related internship experience
  • Knowledge in working with ChatGPT (or similar) is a plus
  • Experience working in SEO or keyword research tools like Semrush is a plus
  • Able to exercise adaptability, integrity, and patience in all situations
  • Ability to be a self-starter, work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and the capacity to use independent judgment in prioritizing tasks
  • Ability to make data driven decisions
  • Strong aptitude to take direction and work effectively as a supportive, positive, and cooperative team member
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a mostly hybrid-remote team
  • Flexibility to come to the office upon request (San Diego) to meet with key stakeholders about priority projects, generally no more than 1-2 days per week
