About the role

  • Construction Project Manager overseeing commercial projects and trade coordination at Gray Construction. Driving project financials, schedules, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Support the coordination of interrelating activities of trade partners, suppliers, vendors, and customers, design, and engineering efforts
  • Responsible for organizational, leadership, communication, management, and problem-solving skills on the project(s)
  • Monitor and report on the financial status of the project(s) and is responsible for subcontract and contract administration
  • Heavy involvement in the development of job progress schedule to ensure actual construction parallels with the schedule
  • Purchase and monitor delivery of all needed materials for the projects ensuring optimum prices, quality, and conformance to specifications
  • Negotiate contracts with trade partners and vendors for their trade scope of responsibility
  • Evaluate change order requests from trade partners in a timely fashion
  • Work with design and engineering teams to ensure projects are designed, procured, and constructed within operating guidelines while conforming to technical requirements and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present reports to successfully manage project(s) such as monthly red files, progress analysis/schedules, billings, status reports, etc.
  • Organize and maintain job files to ensure continuity of workflow
  • Review shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with scope of work for their scope of responsibility
  • May be responsible for estimating efforts relative to the project(s) and proposal preparation efforts.
  • Responsible for the communication, implementation, and enforcement of Gray’s safety and quality programs on site.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six years of experience in construction management
  • Technical knowledge and experience supporting projects in a Project Manager I role or equivalent
  • Successfully completed at least two projects in a Project Manager I role or equivalent
  • Preference for candidates with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture
  • Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office, mobile devices, and innovative programs/software provided by Gray.
