About the role

  • Social Media Intern managing social media content for the Ontario Brain Institute, supporting integrated communications and engagement. Opportunity to learn and develop skills in an inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Communications Specialist to manage and maintain social media content
  • Support the Communications Specialist in planning and maintaining the organizational editorial calendar
  • Collaborate to develop engaging social media content
  • Manage OBI’s social media channels day-to-day, including scheduling posts and responding to inquiries
  • Gather ideas, updates, and materials from OBI staff and adapt messaging for different audiences

Requirements

  • Degree in life sciences, sociology, social sciences, communications, journalism, or public relations
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and tone
  • Platform-specific knowledge of major social media channels
  • Proficiency with social media management and scheduling tools
  • Creative and self-motivated
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks
  • Genuine interest in strategic communications and knowledge translation
  • Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines
