About the role

  • Payroll and Benefits Manager overseeing payroll and benefits administration for NSC, an immigrant service organization in Philadelphia. Managing employee compensation and onboarding processes at NSC.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process biweekly payroll through ADP Workforce Now in a timely and confidential manner
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy personnel files including regulatory reporting requests
  • Process paperwork for new employees and enter employee information into the payroll system
  • Train employees on organizations’ timekeeping systems
  • Review time sheets, wage computation, and reconcile payroll discrepancies
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS
  • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes
  • Assist with Open Enrollment and distribute all benefits enrollment materials
  • Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork
  • Responds to 403(b) inquiries from managers and employees
  • Manage the annual catch-up contribution enrollment and payments
  • Post open positions internally and externally, maintain recruitment-related reports
  • Support hiring manager to screen candidates; conduct new-employee onboarding orientation
  • Serve as administrator for background checks and employment verification
  • Manage notifications of transitioning employees of offboarding information
  • Work with Techimpact to manage staff network accounts

Requirements

  • Associate degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred
  • Two years’ experience in HR, payroll, and/or benefits administration
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS systems, and other relevant HR-related tools and software applications
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
