Business Development Manager in Financial Technology focused on opening new markets in DACH region. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth for B2B software solutions.
Responsibilities
**Your tasks**
You open new markets across the DACH region, identify target customers and decision-makers, and build early growth opportunities for our product and custom software portfolio — up to qualified handover to Sales.
You define target customers, Ideal Client Profiles (ICPs), personas and value propositions together with Marketing & Strategy, and identify pilot customers, PoC approaches and validation levers for new use cases.
You conduct discovery conversations, uncover relevant pain points, and position our product and custom software solutions in a clear, structured and hands-on manner.
You validate MVPs, product features, prototypes and use cases for business fit, market potential and decision-making logic, and develop initial go-to-market (GTM) outlines.
You actively generate leads (outbound, social selling, networking, events) and build a robust network within the Financial Services (FS) and consulting environments.
You strengthen our market presence through targeted outreach and thought leadership and consistently execute campaigns (messaging, tracking, follow-up).
You work closely with Sales, Product, Marketing and Venture/Strategy to feed market feedback into roadmaps, GTM optimizations and use-case development.
Requirements
**Your profile**
Several years of experience in business development, venture building or solution-oriented sales in the financial services / fintech environment — with an understanding of product and custom software business models.
Pronounced hunter mentality: you spot opportunities early, open new markets and systematically build early pipeline sources.
Confident in MVP/feature validation, discovery, market and use-case analyses, and the development of early GTM concepts.
Strong communication and presentation skills; confident in cross-functional collaboration with Product, Marketing, Sales and Venture/Strategy.
Fluent German and English, both written and spoken, and a completed degree in Business Administration, Business Informatics or a related field.
**Nice-to-haves**
Experience building new product markets or working on innovation/digitalization programs within the financial services sector.
Experience collaborating with consulting firms, venture-building units or innovation functions.
Existing network in the banking, insurance or relevant FS-tech ecosystem in DE/AT/LI/LUX (Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg).
