About the role

  • This part-time courier role involves delivering mail and materials for the Florida Department of Health. Work independently and manage schedules effectively within Collier County.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a courier with the Florida Department of Health (DOH)
  • Performs a wide variety of duties including courier services, mail management, operation of a motor vehicle and other related duties
  • Delivers, picks up, sorts, processes, and distributes mail, material and other items
  • Adjust pickup and delivery schedule as needed for unexpected requests
  • Loads and unloads materials or equipment
  • Picks up items at storage facilities, delivers and distributes supplies and material
  • Assists the Property Custodian with property management
  • Makes daily bank deposits and returns bag(s) and receipt(s)
  • Ensures Administration vehicles are maintained and serviced

Requirements

  • A valid State of Florida driver’s license
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to move freely around and work outside in high heat and humid conditions
  • The incumbent must also be capable of operating a variety of government vehicles to include sedans, large vans, or box trucks in the performance of courier and/or delivery services.
  • Incumbent may be required to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency or as needed.
