About the role

  • Federal Account Executive driving Kong's growth strategy in the U.S. Public Sector. Responsible for land new agencies and expanding relationships in the federal market.

Responsibilities

  • Drive Federal expansion by developing and executing a Federal go-to-market strategy
  • Own the full sales cycle from opportunity identification to closing
  • Engage with ecosystem partners to accelerate deal velocity
  • Build trusted relationships with executive and program-level contacts
  • Collaborate with internal teams for seamless customer experiences
  • Conduct strategic account planning and pipeline management
  • Stay informed on Federal IT initiatives and represent Kong Federal at events

Requirements

  • 7+ years of enterprise sales experience within the U.S. Federal market
  • Proficiency in Federal acquisition and procurement processes
  • Strong consultative sales skills
  • Experience selling to senior executives
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred)
  • Knowledge of open source, API, infrastructure, or cybersecurity technologies
