About the role

  • Senior Performance Marketing Manager at KingMakers driving acquisition performance and building a high-performing in-house marketing function across South Africa and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Own the performance strategy
  • Define and execute the performance marketing strategy across paid channels (Meta, Google and beyond).
  • Own key acquisition metrics: FTDs, CPA, New User NGR, LTV and overall channel efficiency.
  • Shift optimisation from short-term CPA to long-term customer value.
  • Drive execution and performance
  • Stay close to daily campaign performance and optimization.
  • Step into hands-on execution when needed.
  • Ensure best-in-class campaign setup, tracking and reporting.
  • Build and lead the team
  • Hire, manage and develop Performance Marketing Specialists.
  • Create a high-performance culture with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Set the structure for a scalable in-house function.
  • Manage partners and stakeholders
  • Manage external partners, platforms and commercial relationships.
  • Work closely with Product, Data and Marketing teams.
  • Deliver clear weekly and monthly performance reporting to stakeholders.
  • Build for scale
  • Contribute to expanding performance marketing into new markets over time.
  • Help define how performance marketing operates across the group.
  • Continuously improve processes, tools and ways of working.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in performance marketing with leadership experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience across Meta, Google and other paid channels.
  • Background in high-performance environments (iGaming, fintech, eCommerce or agencies).
  • Experience managing large budgets and delivering against performance targets.
  • Strong data-driven approach to decision making.
  • Ability to understand and explain performance drivers, not just report numbers.
  • Comfortable redefining business metrics into actionable performance marketing KPIs.
  • A hybrid operator: strategic thinker who can also execute.
  • Experience managing or mentoring team members.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments.
  • Nice to Have: Experience in iGaming or betting.
  • Nice to Have: Experience building or scaling an in-house performance marketing team.
  • Nice to Have: Exposure to non-self-serve channels and partner management.
