Responsibilities
The Managing Director is a key leadership role responsible for aligning technology with the mission and goals of the Jewish Federation Bay Area.
Drive the technological vision for our organization, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and innovative.
Set the direction for our IT strategy while staying closely connected to day-to-day priorities.
Lead the development and execution of the organization’s IT strategy, ensuring technology investments are aligned with the Federation’s mission and growth plans.
Partner with senior leadership to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance business capabilities.
Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks to ensure effective prioritization, risk management, and resource allocation.
Research and recommend emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
Oversee help desk operations and ensure high-quality end-user support.
Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and ensure compliance with data privacy laws.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, ITIL, Microsoft) preferred
15+ years of IT management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role; experience in non-profits or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft solutions (Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform), cloud services, network, security, and business applications.
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams; strong project management and vendor management skills; demonstrated ability to develop peer relationships and partner cross-functionally.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission and values; ability to work collaboratively across departments and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
