Responsibilities
- The Managing Director is a key leadership role responsible for aligning technology with the mission and goals of the Jewish Federation Bay Area.
- Drive the technological vision for our organization, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and innovative.
- Set the direction for our IT strategy while staying closely connected to day-to-day priorities.
- Lead the development and execution of the organization’s IT strategy, ensuring technology investments are aligned with the Federation’s mission and growth plans.
- Partner with senior leadership to identify and implement technology solutions that enhance business capabilities.
- Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks to ensure effective prioritization, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Research and recommend emerging technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Oversee help desk operations and ensure high-quality end-user support.
- Develop, implement, and enforce IT security policies and ensure compliance with data privacy laws.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, ITIL, Microsoft) preferred
- 15+ years of IT management experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role; experience in non-profits or mission-driven organizations is a plus.
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft solutions (Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform), cloud services, network, security, and business applications.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop technical teams; strong project management and vendor management skills; demonstrated ability to develop peer relationships and partner cross-functionally.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to the organization’s mission and values; ability to work collaboratively across departments and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.
