About the role

  • Material Handling Assistant Manager overseeing logistics and operations at Hyundai's EV production facility. Responsible for material handling, coaching teams, and maintaining key performance indicators.

Responsibilities

  • The Material Handling Assistant Manager plays a critical role in support to Material Handling operations.
  • They are responsible for OS&D, Billing, PIV+Facilities+Equipment, Shop floor & rack labeling, PRs, Hardware, SAP material handling support.
  • Oversee OS&D process.
  • Serves as liaison between HMGMA and Hyundai affiliates regarding Production Control billing.
  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and development of team.
  • Implements Kanban systems to control the flow of materials and trigger reordering when inventory levels reach replenishment thresholds.
  • Removes roadblocks and resolves problems delaying the progress of projects and department milestones.
  • Ensures the appropriate material handling equipment (forklifts, tuggers, PDAs, etc.) is procured and delivered according by date of need/use.
  • Supports Material Handling by conducting root cause analysis to eliminate and mitigate issues on manpower, materials, methods, and machine.
  • Responsible for all new model launch milestones related to packaging and material handling activities.
  • Develops Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, monitor progress, assess performance, and make informed decisions.
  • Continuously evaluates cost reduction improvements in material flow and container packaging.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in material flow, inventory management, internal logistics, and/or supply chain management. (minimum 3 years of managing experience)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Advanced Microsoft Applications expertise.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations related to the handling and movement of materials to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ability to articulate, write, and present clearly to upper management.
  • SAP Experience-Control Cycle/Material Master/Supply Area
  • Value Stream Mapping
