About the role

  • Lead North America Quality Center Electrical team to improve overall quality, customer perception, and stabilize new vehicle system and feature deployments.
  • Work with North America affiliates to review arising field concerns and make strategic plan for issue containment.
  • Setup group’s goals & objectives aligning with the corporate direction and facilitate the accomplishment of all objectives.
  • Develop and manage the group’s strategies, plans, human resources and budgets.
  • Mentor direct reports.
  • Support Hyundai Motor Group(HMG) on investigations by managing affiliate’s support, manpower, and investigation findings.
  • Lead projects related to Electrical quality with pre/post product launch, service repair accuracy and vendor quality.
  • Monitor quality trends and coordinate various quality improvement activities to reduce warranty cost and improve overall quality of HMG brand.
  • Publish weekly work plan and team’s activity report to keep track and manage Electrical team’s KPIs.
  • Prepare and present executive summary to upper management.
  • Maintain alignment with Korean coordinators to effectively exchange necessary information with the headquarters.
  • Review & monitor external database related to safety & product feedbacks.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as purchase orders, vacation requests, travel requests, and performance evaluations.
  • Report quality issues with accurate testing & duplication conditions for the proper countermeasure development.
  • Plan and manage efforts to enhance the capabilities of team engineers.
  • Manage performance administrative functions such as purchasing / vacation / travel requests and performance review.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving methodologies required– Six Sigma, Shainin, or etc.
  • Report team’s performance, task progress, current challenges and potential solutions to EL/INFO Sr. Manager.

Requirements

  • Have bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering.
  • Have 10+ years of experience in the area of QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality Investigation & Root Cause Analysis.
  • Previous team management experience is preferred.
  • Be familiar in Vector CANalzyer / CANoe / CANape, Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer.
  • Be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Maintain a keen awareness of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Travel up to 25% of time (domestic & international).
  • Be willing to support initiatives that may fall outside the day-to-day activities listed above.
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
