Operational Resilience Manager overseeing operational resilience strategy at Hiscox, with a focus on regulatory compliance and business continuity. Leading initiatives and advising on resilience capabilities across Group and Business Units.
Responsibilities
Able to lead and deliver complex initiatives to drive a One Hiscox approach across Group and Business Units to strengthen and mature operational resilience
Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Group-level operational resilience standards, covering business continuity, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance (e.g. PRA, FCA, DORA, BMA) and strive for harmonisation across global regulations
Provide expert advice, support and guidance for Business Units and Functions in planning and executing all aspects of the operational resilience frameworks
Drive global action and initiatives necessary to meet evolving regulatory expectations and requirements including scenario testing, disaster recovery and security exercising
Oversee the alignment of incident management, risk management, and associated processes with operational resilience regulations and Hiscox standards
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure integration of resilience measures with Group policies and standards, and to mature resource mapping, important business service reviews, and impact tolerance assessments
Work with Procurement and Vendor Management to ensure third-party contracts meet regulatory and resilience requirements for third-party risk management
Monitor emerging threats and trends, proactively adjusting resilience strategies as needed
Coordinate and facilitate training and awareness programmes to embed a culture of resilience across the organisation
Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management and relevant committees regarding resilience status and improvements
Stay abreast of industry best practices and regulatory requirements, ensuring Hiscox remains at the forefront of operational resilience
Requirements
Deep understanding of operational resilience best practice and regulatory frameworks (PRA, FCA, DORA, BMA)
Proven track record of delivering operational resilience in a regulated environment, ideally within financial services
Experience in assessing risks and designing resilience plans to ensure comprehensive protection of business operations
Experience implementing operational resilience processes, policies, and ways of working
Capability to develop creative solutions to address resilience challenges and adapt to evolving threats
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify vulnerabilities, assess business impacts, and develop creative solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to convey complex strategies and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels
Aptitude for working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to implement resilience measures and coordinate response efforts
Ability to multitask, meeting short-term deadlines while progressing longer-term objectives
Proactive self-starter who can work independently but shows good judgement of when to involve others
Flexible, detail-oriented, and able to adapt to changing circumstances
