About the role

  • Field Sales Engineer combining technical expertise with sales acumen to serve HBK’s solutions in Germany. Focusing on sensor products across various industries including automotive and defense.

Responsibilities

  • Provide full sales coverage for the assigned territory in Germany, closing business opportunities
  • Regularly report on the business climate in your territory to management
  • Identify new business opportunities and maintain loyalty among existing customers
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships across all levels of the customer’s organization, including engineering, marketing, purchasing, and senior management
  • Plan and execute customer visits and presentations to promote HBK awareness and develop opportunities
  • Develop strategies to grow HBK’s presence in automotive, military, machinery, and other market segments
  • Demonstrate strong technical understanding of key HBK products, with the ability to perform basic hardware and software demonstrations
  • Participate in regional trade shows and conferences to foster new business
  • Develop and maintain sales forecasts in close coordination with inside sales
  • Work closely with product marketing to identify key applications where HBK offers unique value
  • Support marketing with application information and feedback
  • Diligently log sales activities and opportunities in CRM
  • Network and prospect for new opportunities and contacts using social media
  • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time within Germany

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another technical discipline strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with selecting and using a variety of sensors, data acquisition systems, data analysis software, and engineering lab equipment
  • Working knowledge of B2B consultative selling processes
  • Measurement experience in acoustics, sound/vibration, motors, strain, force, pressure, or other physical quantities requiring high accuracy or high-speed data
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to handle multiple parallel tasks and projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; technical ability to learn a diverse product line is essential
  • Ability and experience in demonstrating technical products
  • Experience selling into system integrators, aerospace and defense, electric power measurement, or motor/inverter industries is a plus
  • Proven sales track record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Successful history of working from a home office with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Miller Heiman Strategic, Conceptual Selling, or Sandler Sales System is a plus
  • A background in software sales is considered a strong advantage.
