About the role

  • Director of Global Congress Strategy in Oncology driving annual congress planning within a specific TA. Ensuring alignment with medical and commercial strategy while collaborating with external and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual congress planning process for the assigned therapeutic area
  • Develop and drive TA-level congress plans and decision-making
  • Ensure all congress narratives and plans are aligned within the asset
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Provide strategic insights into the appropriate content needed
  • Deliver medical leadership and consistent excellence in congressing
  • Evaluate and shape congress key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Gather and share best practices across global congresses
  • Stay updated on advancements in congressing

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in science, medicine, pharmacy, communications or a related field
  • 7 + years of related experience in scientific communications and/or congress planning and execution
  • Extensive knowledge of pharmaceutical congress industry, codes and practices
  • Experience working with Medical and Commercial teams to deliver aligned and impactful outcomes
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans and narratives
  • Experience collaborating and building relationships with external stakeholders including physicians, payers and patients
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent project management over multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience interpreting, analyzing, organizing, and presenting complex data to a broad range of audiences
