About the role

  • North Carolina Associate Organizing Director responsible for executing statewide organizing plans for Reproductive Freedom for All. Will manage campaign organizing efforts and oversee Organizers across North Carolina.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing a field plan to target, engage, persuade and turn out voters;
  • Collaborating with the Associate Director of State Campaigns and other key stakeholders to strengthen existing organizing efforts and recruit volunteers to North Carolina Action Councils;
  • Supervising Organizers throughout North Carolina and ensuring program remains on track for success; including but not limited to
  • Building and mobilizing a state-wide pool of volunteers, members, and activists
  • Growing our general organizing and political work to leverage political power as we confront historic threats to reproductive freedom
  • Building systems to analyze data and regularly communicating key metrics to Organizing and Campaigns leadership;
  • Acting as a liaison between Organizers and Associate Director of State Campaigns to ensure timeliness on deliverables;
  • Actively track progress to goals and organizational health, and work alongside the Associate Director of State Campaigns to grow programmatic organizing performance across the states;
  • Incorporates a deep commitment to equity and cross-cultural awareness into the approach to organizing work
  • Standard working hours generally fall on Monday through Friday, but flexibility is required, including evenings and weekends, especially closer to the election

Requirements

  • 2+ cycles of campaign organizing experience, including at least 2 cycles of staff management experience
  • Proficiency in VAN, GSuite, and relational texting platforms
  • Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on electoral or issue in a culturally competent manner
  • A self-motivated team player with a demonstrated track record of achieving goals and meeting deadlines, while remaining flexible in the face of changing priorities
  • Possesses strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Willingness to collaborate in a team environment to solve complex problems and work across departments when necessary to meet long term goals
  • Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities, religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability
  • Must be able to lead and attend in-person events; access to a vehicle/valid driver's license required. Willingness to travel across North Carolina
  • Significant knowledge and understanding of North Carolina organizing landscape and dynamics; Ability to use that knowledge to make informed decisions about the organization's approach with key stakeholders across North Carolina and effectively navigate any complex dynamics;
  • Demonstrated commitment to ensuring anti-racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the heart of the organizing program.
  • Strong supervisory skills and experience with an intersectional approach to managing staff;
  • Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce and sensitivity to and appreciation of cultural differences.
