About the role
- Further development and optimization of our MES in an innovative environment
- Functional expansion of the MES and its peripheral systems during normal operations
- Responsibility for equipment integration, from embedded sensors to database connections
- Design, implementation and testing of new features and components within a modern, modular web application
- Adaptation of the institute's IT infrastructure (back-end) with regard to MES usability and interfaces
- Responsibility for MES operations: monitoring, fault analysis, performance optimization and continuous system maintenance
- Close collaboration with internal departments as well as partner institutes and suppliers
- Preparation and delivery of training for key users and other stakeholders
Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science or an equivalent qualification acquired through vocational training and professional experience
- Solid experience with MES systems, equipment integration and production control
- Strong programming skills in software development, ideally in Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript or similar
- Practical experience with web technologies (e.g., REST APIs, HTML5, CSS, frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue)
- Confident working with databases and related infrastructure (SQL, MongoDB, Kafka/Spark)
- Knowledge of server administration and network management
- Analytical thinking and an independent, structured, solution-oriented approach to work
- Enthusiasm for modern IT and production systems
- Strong communication skills and a confident presence in an interdisciplinary environment
- Excellent written and spoken German and English
