About the role

  • RS&W Hyperion Administrator ensuring operational excellence and technical execution of the financial planning system. Focused on system availability, accuracy, and user needs during financial cycles.

Responsibilities

  • The RS&W Hyperion Administrator is responsible for the daily operational excellence, maintenance, and technical execution of the financial planning system.
  • This position ensures the system is available, accurate, and responsive to user needs during critical financial cycles.
  • Execute the technical close processes, including tracking inbound data streams, rolling up actuals, and calculating labor rates for forecasts.
  • Manage the "12+0 Close" and budget update processes; ensure accurate synchronization of exchange rates and currency alignments (USD/LCL).
  • Investigate data flow errors and troubleshoot disconnects using SQL queries in RS&W and IMPRS staging tables.
  • Develop and maintain reports and forms to support business analysis.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle Hyperion EPM applications (Planning and Essbase) in a corporate environment.
  • Database Experience: Proven experience with SQL (Structured Query Language), including the ability to write complex queries to investigate data flow errors and validate staging tables.
  • Hyperion Administration: Deep understanding of Hyperion Planning and Essbase, including metadata management, application tuning, and managing dimensions/hierarchies.
  • Scripting & Calculation: Experience maintaining and modifying calculation scripts, business rules, and member formulas to support financial logic (e.g., labor rate calculations).
  • Reporting Tools: Advanced proficiency in Oracle Smart View and Hyperion Financial Reporting (HFR) for creating forms and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Integrations: Experience managing data integration and data movement between systems (ETL processes). Experience specifically with Planisware-to-Hyperion integration is a strong plus.
  • Financial Acumen: Solid understanding of financial cycles (Month-End/Year-End Close, Budgeting, Forecasting) and accounting concepts (Currency Conversion/FX rates, General Ledger alignment).
  • Process Management: Demonstrated ability to manage strict operational timelines (e.g., "12+0 Close") and ensure system availability during critical windows.
  • Compliance & Security: Experience managing user provisioning (Shared Services), security groups, and maintaining documentation for Internal Controls/SOX compliance.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot data integrity issues ("kickouts") and resolve technical disconnects between staging environments.
  • Communication: Ability to translate technical system issues into business language for stakeholders and provide high-quality user support.
  • Adaptability: Capability to act as a reciprocal backup to the Business Owner, requiring a holistic understanding of both the technical system and the business strategy it supports.
