About the role

  • Network Administrator at FlexIT Consulting managing secure IT infrastructures and network design. Focused on implementing solutions for network performance and security standards in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, designing and building high-performance network environments (switching, routing, LAN, WLAN/Wi‑Fi, VPN) including VLAN/ACL segmentation, quality-of-service and redundancy concepts
  • Designing, deploying and operating modern next‑generation firewalls (e.g. Sophos XGS)
  • Implementing security standards such as hardening, Zero Trust, port security, NAC and RBAC
  • Administration of heterogeneous Windows and Linux server landscapes, Active Directory and virtualization (VMware, Hyper‑V, DataCore)
  • Planning, site survey and operation of professional WLAN infrastructures (e.g. Aruba Central)
  • Proactive monitoring as well as analysis and resolution of complex network and infrastructure incidents (2nd/3rd‑level)
  • Preparation of clear system and project documentation and structured handovers to operational IT teams
  • Close coordination with project management and sales

Requirements

  • Completed technical training (e.g. IT specialist), degree in IT or comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in IT security and firewall operations (2nd/3rd‑level), ideally with Sophos XGS
  • Solid knowledge of network administration (switching, routing, VLAN), preferably with Aruba Central
  • Experience in server administration (Windows Server, Active Directory) and virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V)
  • Experienced in professional WLAN management and access point design
  • Analytical, structured, independent and quality‑oriented
  • Confident, service‑oriented manner when dealing with customers and colleagues; very good German and good English skills
  • Enjoyment of working in varying customer environments and a valid Class B driving license
  • Motivation to continuously develop through training and certifications (e.g. Sophos XGS, Aruba Central, Microsoft) and to drive new topics forward
