About the role

• Technical Project Manager overseeing battery storage projects at FION Energy GmbH. Ensuring timely and quality project delivery within the energy industry.

Responsibilities

• Project management: Lead projects from contract signature to commissioning – monitor schedule, quality and costs; act as the main point of contact for the customer.
• Technical implementation: Coordinate installation, connection and integration of the storage system with electrical contractors, manufacturers and customer teams.
• Understand and consider single-line diagrams (SLD); ensure technical requirements (connection concept, protection, safety).
• Grid connection & authorities: Prepare and submit applications to grid and metering point operators.
• Actively manage follow-up questions from the grid operator and consolidate technical response packages.
• Accompany compliance and evidence requirements according to relevant standards (e.g., VDE-AR-N 4105/4110) together with partners.
• Obtain approvals, test reports and certificates required for commissioning.
• Risks & customer experience: Identify technical risks early, provide clear go/no-go signals and find pragmatic solutions.
• Inform customers transparently – your goal: turn projects into reference customers.
• Build standards: Develop checklists, templates and simple standards from projects to speed up future projects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in technical project management or project execution in energy/building services, PV/storage projects or industrial electrical engineering
• Degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering, Electrical Power Systems or Industrial Engineering with an energy focus, OR technician/master craftsman in electrical engineering with relevant project management experience
• Good understanding of electrical infrastructure in commercial/industrial environments (low voltage with interface to medium voltage including switchgear, protection, safety)
• Experience working with grid or metering point operators and basic understanding of grid connection processes (e.g., VDE-AR-N 4105/4110)
• Confident in reading single-line diagrams (SLD) and technical specifications; ideally initial exposure to protection concepts/connection design
• Structured, independent working style – able to manage multiple projects in parallel while maintaining deadlines
• Strong customer orientation: you enjoy direct customer contact and consider customer satisfaction part of your technical role
• Very good German (C1) and good English for internal coordination.
