About the role

  • Project lead responsible for executing diverse biotech engineering projects in Switzerland. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance and quality standards in production.

Responsibilities

  • Estimate, study, execute, coordinate and deliver diversified technical engineering, process and biotech equipment projects (revamping of biotech process installations, utilities, existing rooms or new production lines).
  • Act as project lead for small CAPEX projects or serve as a Work Package Owner within a larger project team for major investments.
  • Manage multidisciplinary projects: process/equipment/mechanical, fluids, HVAC, automation, electrical, instrumentation, civil engineering & architecture.
  • Assess technical feasibility of the project, prepare, review and approve URS (User Requirements Specifications) with our internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible for detailed engineering studies, issuing tenders to contractors, supplier offer comparisons, purchase orders, detailed follow-up of supplier studies and challenging timelines.
  • Ensure integration and compliance with quality requirements (cGMP), environment & safety (EHS), energy efficiency and site technical standards.
  • Implement CCPs (Change Control Proposals) and perform associated GMP risk analyses.
  • Manage technical discipline interfaces and coordinate with site PMO (and authorities if applicable).
  • Oversee supplier activities on site, organize and supervise construction works, manage shutdowns to minimize impact on Production.
  • Lead Commissioning & Qualification activities up to PQ (Performance Qualification) phases.

Requirements

  • Generalist engineer with a mechanical emphasis.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in process engineering and equipment for pharma/biotech on technical projects at cGMP production sites is MANDATORY.
  • Proven hands-on field experience, site supervision, commissioning and IQ/OQ activities.
  • Proven experience managing revamp projects of existing installations (production interface challenges, shutdown management, etc.).
  • Strong skills and experience in project feasibility / macro estimation / conceptual design & Site Master Planning are highly valued (e.g., study of a new production suite).
  • Flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness to project contingencies and variability in the site production schedule.
  • Proficiency in MS Project.
  • Languages: fluent French and professional working proficiency in English.
