About the role

  • Sales Engineer driving business growth for Okta by arranging technical sales activities and providing expertise. Responsible for demos, technical presentations and post-sales support.

Responsibilities

  • Arranging technical sales activities that target partner enablement and community build
  • Providing technical expertise and guidance to partners throughout the sales cycle
  • Conducting demos and delivering compelling presentations to showcase the value of Okta’s solutions
  • Articulating the Okta value proposition and addressing technical questions or concerns
  • Playing a crucial role in partner relationship management and sales closure based on technical considerations
  • Understanding Okta’s technical features, and how they map to business outcomes
  • Holding the required Okta technical certifications
  • Providing technical Sales support and guidance across the channel for all Okta products and services
  • Performing technical presentations for partners, their customers, and at events
  • Delivering product demonstrations to showcase Okta
  • Leading Proof of Concepts across the channel, from deployment to completion
  • Designing identity, cloud, security, and network architectures in collaboration with partners
  • Participating in sales meetings, trade shows and industry events
  • Providing post-sales support to partners and their customers, ensuring their satisfaction with Okta
  • Collaborating with Okta to ensure the successful implementation of solutions
  • Managing local technical relationships with Okta
  • Staying updated on industry trends, market dynamics and competitor offerings

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical area (Computer Science, Computer Engineering); or equivalent work experience
  • 3-7 years’ experience in a sales engineer role in identity and security
  • Current certifications with Okta alliance technologies are desirable
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and effectively communicate them to both technical and non-technical audiences in an easy-to-understand format
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and establish strong relationships with partners and internal teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective technical presentation skills
  • Good Communication capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Driving licence
