About the role

  • Umweltingenieur managing environmental and hazardous materials for Daimler Trucks after sales. Handling compliance and chemical data updates in ERP systems while coordinating with logistics and production.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and updating of chemical substance data (safety data sheets, CLP classifications) in ERP systems. Support in monitoring storage and transport regulations (ADR, IMDG), maintaining hazardous substance registers in accordance with TRGS 400, and ensuring compliance with current GHS labeling
  • Act as an interface between Purchasing, Production, Logistics and Suppliers to clarify hazardous substances and dangerous goods
  • Classification of products for transport (ADR, RID, IMDG, IATA) and ensuring CLP labeling (hazard pictograms, H- & P-statements)
  • Creation and maintenance of hazardous substance and dangerous goods data in ERP systems
  • Preparation and updating of the hazardous substance register in accordance with § 6 of the German Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV) (designation, properties, quantities, storage locations)
  • Ensuring legal requirements in aftersales with respect to REACH and labeling obligations under the CLP Regulation
  • Determination and licensing of all packaging quantities (sales, secondary and shipping packaging) for dual systems, as well as regular data reporting to LUCID and the dual systems
  • Performing manufacturer registration with stiftung ear and monthly reporting of quantities placed on the market according to § 10 of the German Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG)
  • Regular reporting of battery quantities placed on the market (consumer, industrial, vehicle batteries) to the system or the competent authorities

Requirements

  • Completed degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, Natural Sciences, Engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Solid knowledge of hazardous substances legislation (GefStoffV, REACH, GHS/CLP) as well as dangerous goods regulations (in particular ADR)
  • Experience working with ERP systems, ideally SAP EHS
  • Good understanding of current environmental law, regulations, directives and relevant environmental standards and their application and implementation within an organization
  • Process-oriented work style, holistic thinking and acting, and strong team and communication skills
  • Passion for sustainability and environmental topics and a continuous curiosity to stay up to date and develop improvement ideas
  • Experience in project work; initial experience in project management is desirable
  • English skills, spoken and written (min. B2.2) for collaboration with colleagues across the Group
  • In addition, you demonstrate assertiveness, conceptual and communication skills, as well as a creative and structured working style, high initiative and result orientation, and the ability to work independently and with a focus on objectives
  • Interest in other cultures, team spirit, flexibility, customer orientation, willingness to travel and an open, collegial manner complete your profile
