About the role

  • Account Executive responsible for selling commercial carpet and maintaining client relationships in Eastern Missouri/Southern Illinois. Engaging with contractors and end users to capture market share and build networks.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sale of commercial carpet in Eastern Missouri/Southern Illinois
  • Meet sales forecasts with a balanced approach between carpet and other product categories
  • Work with flooring contractors, designers, and end users to capture market share
  • Identify sales opportunities through new construction and refurbishing projects
  • Generate leads through relationships with architects, designers, and flooring contractors
  • Maintain customer data in Quest-CRM system
  • Provide sales and marketing services including calls, presentations, and support
  • Establish relationships with Strategic Accounts Executives for account growth
  • Maintain status and service on job bids and specifications
  • Participate in trade and community organizations

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in outside sales within the commercial interior industry
  • College degree is preferred
  • Valid drivers license and auto insurance
  • Ability to work 8-10 hours, five days per week in the sales field
  • Flexibility to work early mornings or evenings when necessary
  • Entertainment of clients is expected on a weekly basis
  • Monthly overnight travel as needed, approximately 1-2 times per month
  • Occasional overnight travel to regional meetings and sales training required
  • Lifting of architect folders and carpet samples up to 25 lbs frequently required.
  • Some pushing and pulling may be required to move samples and supplies.
