About the role

  • Designing, developing, and optimizing Power BI solutions while ensuring secure, efficient, and scalable workspace management within the Power BI and Fabric environment.
  • Responsibility for hands-on Power BI Optimization, Administration, and Development.
  • Workspace creation, access control, and capacity monitoring.
  • Perform end-to-end performance tuning by optimizing DAX calculations and Power Query transformations.
  • Analyze data modeling and ensure adherence to best practices.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of hands-on experience in Power BI Optimization, Administration and Development.
  • Expertise in DAX — optimized measure creation and performance-efficient time intelligence.
  • Power Query (M language) — advanced transformations, query folding, and dataflows.
  • Data modeling — star/snowflake schema design and aggregation strategies.
  • Proven experience with Power BI Service Administration: workspace creation and management.
  • Assigning roles, managing permissions, and granting access to users and groups.
  • Capacity monitoring and performance analysis using the Fabric Capacity Metrics App.
  • Perform end-to-end performance tuning — query optimization, data model refinement, and reducing dataset refresh times.
  • Analyze and optimize DAX calculations and Power Query transformations to enhance performance and maintain query folding.
  • Implement best practices in data modeling (star schema, aggregations, relationships, surrogate keys).
  • Understanding of Power BI Gateways, Incremental Refresh, Aggregations, and Deployment Pipelines.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills using Performance Analyzer, DAX Studio, and Query Diagnostics.
  • Good understanding of query folding, Mashup Engine, and dataflow refresh behavior.
  • Experience with SQL Server / Azure SQL / Synapse, including basic query optimization.
  • Experience with Azure services like Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL is an advantage.
  • Experience with Power BI and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), including database administration, and query optimization.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, good communication and collaboration skills.
