About the role

  • Global Payroll Manager overseeing payroll operations across Asia-Pacific region for e.l.f. Beauty. Requires deep knowledge of APAC statutory compliance and multi-country payroll management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll operations across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
  • Play a key role in scaling our India Global Payroll Operations Team.
  • Support North America, Europe, and APAC, with opportunities to expand as our global operations continue to grow.
  • Lead payroll operations, compliance, and transformation for the APAC region.
  • Provide operational oversight of payroll processing across key global markets (North America, Europe, and APAC).
  • Build and manage a high-performing India-based payroll operations team supporting multiple regions.
  • Serve as the regional expert on payroll legislation, tax compliance, and statutory reporting for the APAC region.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll execution and issue resolution.
  • Establish and maintain payroll process documentation, KPIs, and audit controls, including SOX.
  • Drive operational efficiency through automation, standardization, and process improvements.
  • Support system configuration and enhancement initiatives, working with global IT and vendor partners.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and employee experience excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 8-12 years of payroll experience with 3+ years leading regional or multi-country payrolls.
  • In-depth knowledge of APAC statutory payroll requirements (India, China, etc.).
  • Proven success leading payroll or business transformation initiatives focused on automation, process optimization, and efficiency within a complex, multi-country environment and systems (ADP, SAP, BamboHR, or other HR Information Systems, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to manage and analyze complex data and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with payroll, finance, and HR systems such as ADP, SAP, and BambooHR or other HR Information Systems.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis, identifying process gaps, and implementing corrective and preventative actions to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
  • Experience in process improvement and automation (e.g., robotic process automation (RPA), robotic desktop automation (RDA), AI, Machine Learning, Microsoft Automation Tools, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to work effectively across time zones and cultures.
