Responsibilities

  • Design and build the People & Culture practices
  • Develop and lead HR strategy across the business
  • Champion a high-performance culture rooted in trust, autonomy, and accountability
  • Build a scalable HR infrastructure, including policies, systems, HRIS (we use BambooHR), and processes
  • Design and implement the blueprint for our internship program
  • Partner with managers to improve team performance, coaching, and growth
  • Lead DEIB initiatives and ensure inclusive, progressive workplace practices
  • Own the employee lifecycle journey — from onboarding to exit and everything in between
  • Run employee surveys, feedback loops, and culture diagnostics
  • Drive employer branding efforts to attract and retain top talent
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and best HR practices
  • Support recruitment, performance reviews, and leadership development

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a People Partner / HRBP / People & Culture role in a high-growth environment
  • Proven experience building or scaling HR teams or functions
  • Strong understanding of South African labour law
  • High EQ and business acumen — you get people, and you get strategy
  • Track record of leading culture change or building award-winning teams
  • You’re a builder, not a babysitter. You like starting things and making them great.
