Senior Payroll Accountant managing Payroll processes for getolo's finance team in Berlin area. Role is part-time with home office option and requires local expertise in Payroll and Accounting.
Responsibilities
To further expand our Payroll area and ensure correct, timely, and legally compliant payroll processing for our employees, we are strengthening our Finance team.
Therefore, we are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll Accountant (m/f/d) to start immediately, working 20 hours per week (Monday to Friday).
Your place of residence should ideally be in the Berlin/Brandenburg area — if not, you are still very welcome to apply (home office possible).
In this responsible part-time role, you will be the central point of contact for all payroll-related matters and will ensure smooth coordination between Payroll, HR and Accounting.
Independently execute and manage the monthly payroll for our employees.
Maintain, review and enter all payroll-relevant master and transaction data.
Prepare and submit all statutory notifications and certificates (e.g., social security notifications, DEÜV, A1 certificates).
Ensure the correct and timely implementation of all legal requirements in payroll tax, employment and social security law.
Assess complex payroll tax and social security issues and implement them in payroll in an audit-proof manner.
Act as the central interface between Payroll, HR and Accounting, including reconciliation of payroll accounts and provisions.
Work closely with external partners such as tax advisors, authorities and social security agencies.
Serve as the internal contact for all payroll-related questions and support internal reviews and audits.
Support the Accounting team with ongoing accounting tasks and maintain a basic understanding of the overall accounting processes (HGB).
Requirements
Must have:
Several years of solid professional experience in operational payroll processing, ideally in a senior or key-user role
Completed commercial apprenticeship or degree in business administration with a focus on Payroll, Accounting or HR
Very good knowledge of payroll tax, employment and social security law
Strong practical experience in payroll accounting and a solid understanding of accounting under the German Commercial Code (HGB)
Proficient use of payroll and HR systems (ideally DATEV and Personio, alternatively comparable tools)
Confident user of MS Office, especially Excel
Fluent German, both written and spoken; good English skills
Analytical, structured and very meticulous working style with high attention to detail
Strong sense of responsibility and a high regard for confidentiality and data protection
Excellent communication skills and a solution-oriented mindset
