About the role

  • Sales Specialist for Circunomics identifying and winning buyers for energy storage systems across diverse customer groups. Owning the commercial pipeline from outreach to contracting in a hybrid remote role.

Responsibilities

  • We’re hiring a Sales Specialist to identify, qualify, and win buyers for energy storage systems (ESS) across key customer groups, including energy storage operators, utilities, independent power producers (IPPs), energy project developers, and large C&I energy users.
  • You will own the commercial pipeline from first outreach through negotiation and contracting—working closely with our ESS Partners, finance, and legal to turn market demand into executed deals.
  • Build and execute a prospecting strategy to reach ESS buyers across target segments and geographies.
  • Map accounts and decision-makers (origination, development, procurement, engineering, finance).
  • Develop a structured pipeline with clear qualification (use case, site, interconnection, timeline, budget, contracting path).
  • Lead sales cycles end-to-end: discovery, solution positioning, bid submission with our ESS partners, negotiation, and close.
  • Translate customer needs (capacity, duration, degradation, warranties, performance guarantees, delivery schedule) into winning commercial offers.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and our ESS partners to produce compelling proposals (technical + commercial + delivery plan).
  • Identify and manage strategic partners (EPCs, developers, integrators, advisors) to accelerate access to projects.
  • Create repeatable partner motions (lead sharing, co-selling, framework agreements).
  • Provide market feedback to inform pricing, product roadmap, and packaging (e.g., warranty structures, O&M options, availability guarantees).
  • Track competitor activity and customer buying criteria; recommend differentiators and positioning.
  • Support negotiation of key commercial terms (payment milestones, delivery, LDs, acceptance tests, warranties, service levels).

Requirements

  • 3–8+ years in business development / B2B sales within energy storage, renewables, power markets, or grid infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of selling complex solutions with multi-stakeholder buying committees.
  • Comfortable with technical-commercial discussions (ESS sizing, duration, performance, degradation, warranties, grid connection constraints).
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience working with term sheets/contracts (with support).
  • Excellent CRM discipline (pipeline hygiene, forecasting, stage definitions).
  • Preferred / Nice-to-Have Experience selling grid-scale BESS, hybrid projects (PV+storage), or storage services (tolling, capacity, ancillary services).
  • Knowledge of project development lifecycle (site control → interconnection → permitting → financing → EPC).
  • Familiarity with offtake structures and revenue stacks (capacity, arbitrage, ancillary services).
  • Existing network across utilities, developers, IPPs, and storage operators.

Benefits

  • Flexible working hours & hybrid remote model – we trust you to deliver results, wherever you are.
  • Modern office in Mainz (optional) – open spaces, coffee bar, meeting pods.
  • Low‑hierarchy, open‑feedback culture – your voice shapes strategy.
  • English as the company language – work in an international, multicultural team.
  • Competitive salary plus performance-based bonus tied to sourcing volume, quality, and revenue generation.
  • Professional development budget – conferences, certifications, language courses.
  • Direct impact on the circular battery ecosystem – you will literally help close the loop on used EV batteries.
