Responsibilities
Provides administrative, operational, and clerical support to department staff.
Manages online approval systems for expenses, reimbursements, and travel.
Coordinates with department leadership and Cato’s legal team to manage work contracts.
Coordinates and stages meetings and programming events, including scheduling with both internal and external parties, reserving space, and coordinating/obtaining catering if needed.
Updates standard operating procedures, data records, and file structures.
Coordinates with the team to facilitate the digital and physical procurement and distribution of Educational Initiatives materials, both internally and externally (i.e., books, mailers, merchandise, etc.).
Supports department colleagues and performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
At least one year of professional work experience, ideally in an executive or administrative support-related role.
An associate degree in any related field.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
Familiarity with Salesforce preferred.
An understanding of libertarian political philosophy and economic theory; passionate about the mission of the Cato Institute.
