About the role
- Employee Relations Specialist coordinating onboarding at Southern Health-Santé Sud for Indigenous employees. Ensuring culturally safe experiences and effective information flow with HR and Payroll.
Responsibilities
- The Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for the effective coordination of onboarding and ensuring new hires to Southern Health-Santé Sud are supported through completion of the probation period.
- Working closely with hiring managers, other members of the Human Resources Department, and Payroll, the Employee Relations Specialist ensures the flow of information during onboarding.
- The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally safe onboarding journey for all new staff, ensuring all new hires–especially Indigenous employees–feel supported, valued, and connected to the organization's culture and resources.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities or organizations in a professional capacity.
- Recent and relevant experience managing human resource functions.
- Experience in a health care environment preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with QHR and/or ESP is an asset.
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.
- Must be of Indigenous ancestry (First Nation, Métis, Inuit).
