About the role
- Financial Accountant responsible for accounting of medium-sized groups in Berlin. Collaborating internationally and managing various accounting tasks using SAP.
Responsibilities
- Accounting for small and medium-sized group companies with the following specific tasks:
- Maintaining the general ledger (e.g., banks, cash, prepaid expenses/receivables, deferred income)
- Manual revenue postings
- Fixed asset accounting
- Reconciling all relevant payroll-related accounts
- Employee travel expense reports
- Accounts payable bookkeeping, including payment runs as a backup
- Preparing data from external systems and importing it into SAP
- Closing entries and intercompany reconciliations
- Preparation of monthly financial statements and participation in annual financial statements
- Regulatory reporting (VAT, ZM — recapitulative statement, payroll tax reporting, KSA)
- Collaboration with staff in domestic and foreign subsidiaries, auditors and tax advisors on site
Requirements
- Certified financial accountant with practical experience in international accounting (HGB/German GAAP and IFRS) or equivalent qualification
- Fluent in German, both written and spoken
- Good command of English
- Knowledge of VAT
- SAP experience (SAP FI) desirable and strong user-level skills in Microsoft Office applications
- Solution-oriented working style and ability to work in a team
