About the role

  • Account Manager in Downstream Chemicals delivering customer success with chemical treatment programs. Collaborating with teams and managing key accounts in the refining and water treatment industries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a vital service by implementing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and evaluating chemical treatment programs
  • Take ownership of key customer accounts to ensure they have the services and products required to operate safely and efficiently
  • Safely manage day-to-day operations of process, finished fuels, and water treatment programs to ensure performance and value delivery for our customers
  • Develop trusted relationships with customers and cross-functional teams to promote collaboration
  • Apply account management fundamentals to understand customer needs, requirements and potential sales opportunities while supporting the account P&L
  • Identify and coordinate numerous projects of varying complexity to bring value to our customers
  • Routine monitoring and reporting of performance of existing treatment programs
  • Collaborate with team members to drive technical sales and innovative solutions that bring value to our customers
  • Collect and interpret data for troubleshooting, service reports, meetings, reviews, and presentations delivered to customers
  • Provide field support, laboratory analysis and technical guidance for our customers on issues, projects, turn-arounds, shut-downs, and daily operations
  • Manage chemical inventories and deliveries at the customer locations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering (preferred) or similar discipline
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in refining, petrochemical, industrial, and/or water treatment industries
  • Strong understanding of industrial chemical treatment technology and sales process
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory setting and/or familiarity with analytical methods and interpretation
  • A comprehensive understanding of customer requirements and market conditions
  • Ability to present complex technical content to various levels of internal and external organizations, in a clear and concise manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle as required to perform job duties (motor vehicle record checks will be performed to determine eligibility to drive a company vehicle)
  • A TWIC Card or ability to obtain a TWIC Card
  • Reside in a location which will allow for weekly customer service visits to Russellville, KY, Calvert City, KY and Evansville, IN
