Second Line Support Engineer at Babcock, ensuring reliable satellite communications for the UK Armed Forces. Responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and providing technical support in a secure environment.
Responsibilities
Complete routine and scheduled maintenance in line with work orders, maintenance schedules, and support documentation.
Drive reactive maintenance activities and contribute to continuous improvement.
Report, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system alarms and anomalies.
Produce comprehensive fault reports and accurately record all maintenance activities.
Work closely with stakeholders and operational support teams to ensure the delivery of satellite services.
Provide out‑of‑hours technical on‑call support to the Operations team.
Requirements
CompTIA Network+ or equivalent experience.
Understanding and experience of maintaining high‑power RF (Radio Frequency) transmission and antenna systems.
Competence and certification to work at height.
Skilled in installing and repairing fibre and copper cable systems.
Proven experience in maintaining and fault‑finding on satellite communications equipment, including control and monitoring systems.
Strong organisational and workload‑prioritisation skills, with the ability to work autonomously.
HNC or above in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (or relevant equivalent experience).
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
Must be Sole UK national.
