About the role

  • Document Controller at Babcock ensuring nuclear safety and compliance through documentation management. Responsible for regulatory correspondence and support for audits in complex environments.

Responsibilities

  • Record, manage and track all incoming and outgoing nuclear regulatory correspondence
  • Administer the Corporate Correspondence Database and support system testing of NDMS‑related digital tools
  • Update controlled documentation, including the Devonport Royal Dockyard Site Licence Manual, and prepare weekly correspondence status reports
  • Administer and support users of the Nuclear Documentation Management System (NDMS)
  • Support the Regulatory Interface Coordination Cell by maintaining documentation, supporting audits, and providing assistance during peak periods

Requirements

  • Strong administrative and coordination experience within a complex, process‑driven or regulated environment (defence, nuclear, aerospace, rail, energy or similar)
  • Experience working with document control systems and databases, with the ability to manage sensitive correspondence and maintain accurate records
  • Skilled at producing reports, updating controlled documents and supporting audits
  • High attention to detail and confidence following strict processes and procedures
  • Ability to support testing and troubleshooting of digital tools and systems
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C / 4–5 or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 3 or Level 3 qualification in Business and Administration or Customer Service Practitioner
  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role
