About the role

  • Programme Manager responsible for leading complex naval gunnery projects at Babcock. Driving innovative solutions and managing multi-disciplinary teams for national security.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Complex Programmes that Shape the Future of Defence
  • Manage complex engineering projects with transformational elements, delivering systems and services that support naval gunnery and future technologies such as Uncrewed Surface Vessels
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary team to deliver naval gunnery projects and new business opportunities
  • Driving growth strategies, including ownership of Uncrewed Surface Vessel prospects
  • Providing leadership and guidance to ensure delivery commitments and financial goals are met
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining confidence in Babcock’s delivery.
  • Developing and implementing business cases, delivery plans, and transformation initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Project and Programme Management principles
  • Proven track record delivering complex engineering programmes from design through to manufacture
  • Experience in managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder relationships
  • Defence sector experience is desirable but not essential
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience
  • Recognised project management qualification such as APM PMQ, ChPP or equivalent.
  • The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
