About the role

  • Director of Sales & Marketing developing brand positioning and revenue growth for Aethos Hotels in Italy. Leading integrated marketing efforts and managing a sales team across Italian properties.

Responsibilities

  • Own the local & international market positioning of the brand in Italy, ensuring consistency with global brand guidelines while tailoring to local, regional & international audiences.
  • Develop annual sales & marketing strategies and budgets for all Italian properties, aligned with commercial targets (ADR, occupancy, GOP, direct booking share & measured BtoB ROI).
  • Know the international leisure luxury market and MICE market - continue to grow the interest, engagement and loyalty into Aethos Italy Hotels.
  • Build local networks to support other revenue streams on property such as F&B and Membership.
  • Plan and execute integrated campaigns (digital, social, print, partnerships) to drive awareness and bookings.
  • Oversee creation of high-quality content (photo/video, storytelling, social media) in line with brand voice.
  • Manage seasonal campaigns, launch moments, and property-specific initiatives.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to direct revenue growth through paid media, SEO, CRM, and website optimization in collaboration with the central digital team.
  • Oversee always-on performance marketing for the Italian properties, with clear KPIs and cost control.
  • Increase & optimize volume from existing clients B2B and prospect new revenue opportunities for all properties.
  • Help shape the guest lifecycle communication for Italy: pre-arrival, in-stay, post-stay.
  • Work with the corporate CRM team to ensure segmentation, personalization, and database growth strategies are executed with Revinate/CRM.
  • Identify and manage strategic brand partnerships (local and national) that strengthen brand equity.
  • Work closely with PR agencies to drive coverage, press stays, and storytelling.
  • Plan and activate community-driven initiatives (events, local collaborations, cultural programming).
  • Lead and develop a small cluster sales & marketing team (property marketing managers, coordinators).
  • Collaborate closely with GMs, F&B, Events, Membership (if applicable), and central brand/marketing teams.
  • Deliver monthly commercial and sales & marketing performance reports.
  • Track KPIs across awareness, engagement, conversion, and revenue impact.
  • Use insights to shape strategy and improve ROI.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years in a leading Director of Sales & Marketing role on property or in a comparable position
  • Proof of Success records
  • Experience in property positioning or repositioning
  • Hotel opening experience would be beneficial
  • International contacts in the hospitality BtoB world
