About the role

  • Understand company's business and assist in all revenue accounting functions to support accurate and timely financial reporting, optimize revenue recognition processes and communicate policies across the organization.
  • Drive and support the month end close process, including preparing relevant journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and account analysis on period over period account fluctuations.
  • Support revenue internal reporting needs to key stakeholders throughout the organization, for example deferred revenue and receivable flux reporting.
  • Perform review and analysis of complex revenue contracts under ASC 606 and apply revenue recognition policies.
  • Work collaboratively with FP&A and financial reporting and others within the organization to assist in understanding our revenue recognition as well as help provide guidance on revenue trends, variances, and forecast methodology.
  • Participate in various accounting and billing system projects to promote more timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Support business process improvements and projects for quote to cash process.
  • Collaborate with other departments including sales, legal, billing engineering, and product to support projects and business process improvements as noted above.
  • Leverage AI to streamline internal processes and develop new insights for the business.
  • Assist team with international audits, accounting research, and special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA or progress towards CPA a plus.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience including recognizing revenue in line with ASC 606 and accounts receivable reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs) and google sheets. Ability to analyze and adapt to new sources of data.
  • Experience with Netsuite, Floqast, or Zuora a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with employees at all levels of the organization and manage relationships with external parties.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvements in reporting and to manage multiple projects that promote system improvements and efficiencies.
  • Possesses determination and perseverance; ability to find more efficient ways to complete responsibilities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience with Netsuite or other comparable ERP systems preferred.
  • SaaS or technology industry experience preferred.
  • Public accounting experience a plus.
