Technical accounting manager responsible for US GAAP financial statements and reporting at WRITER. Key contributor ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
Responsibilities
The manager of technical accounting & reporting will serve as a key contributor to the timely and accurate production and analysis of US GAAP-based financial statements and reports for WRITER.
Responsible for the key technical accounting and reporting areas such as: lease accounting, stock base compensation, capitalized developed software, commission, revenue, acquisitions, related party, preferred stock and other.
Contribute to the preparation, and review of financial statements and footnotes, including drafting of footnotes, in accordance with GAAP
Take the lead with annual external audit
Draft technical accounting assessment memos for the related technical matters
Work together with the Corporate Controller on the 409A valuations
Provide accounting support and guidance for complex business transactions
Research and provide technical accounting guidance in accordance with U.S. GAAP
Analyze new accounting standards applicable to the organization and guide the accounting team on their application
Assist with updating and creating accounting policies and procedures required by either technical accounting, business, or internal control changes
Help identify and develop best-in-class workflow improvements and/or efficiencies; recommend improvements as needed to ensure accurate financial reporting, ensure adequate controls, policies and procedures are in place, and ensure the department has the ability to scale with the company’s growth
Work with the local statutory auditors and assist with the statutory audit work
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business; active CPA or equivalent required
5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting firms (Big Four is required) or high-tech industry companies with extensive technical accounting experience.
Excellent grasp of US GAAP and understanding of IFRS concepts
Self-motivated individual with the ability to meet project deliverables
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
An ability to work well within a team and effect change cross-functionally
Critical thinker who can foresee potential obstacles and propose alternative approaches
Experience building relationships and working directly with senior executives

High proficiency in MS Office and Google suite
