Support multiple research sales representatives by providing information specific to safety, including technical information and product recommendations.
Develop and maintain effective customer relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory.
Seek out broader relationships within accounts to facilitate networking and prospecting.
Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to expand business within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
Implement customer specific action plans, perform hazard assessments, make product recommendations, and provide product training regarding occupational health and safety equipment.
Research competitor and industry activity and incorporate findings into business plans; introduce new products and services.
Manage pricing within territory to control profitability and maintain accurate reporting, records, and files for territory management.
Inform customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control; consult with customers.
Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.
Visit customer sites in person as a field-based role and achieve sales and profit forecasts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferably with a technical degree in safety, EH&S, QA, environmental science or science.
5+ years of sales experience, preferably in safety products or controlled environment products, or industry equivalent.
Prior sales experience is required.
Knowledge of safety and cleanroom standards is an asset.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
Solid understanding of CRM systems such as SalesForce.com.
Must possess the interpersonal skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed.
Strong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferred.
Able and willing to travel to customer locations.
