About the role

  • Provide oversight to engineering group(s) supporting design, development, implementation, and delivery of product engineering software components
  • Manage two or more teams to ensure capacity to deliver the product roadmap
  • Build Product Engineering components and maintain them through production
  • Provide supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing and provide input for employee selection, training, guidance, performance management and development
  • Provide technical guidance to design and engineering patterns on product design and guide efforts for identification, enhancement and automation of applications and systems
  • Ensure testing policies and procedures are followed and enhance/mature the Agile software development lifecycle
  • Keep management informed of team progress, problems and solutions and serve as liaison between Engineering and other departments
  • Promote DevOps principles, participate in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Planning, and support risk management and data integrity/confidentiality
  • Establish and assure teams' adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements; may manage subordinate supervisors, team leads, and engineers

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (typical minimum)
  • Three or more years of experience in Full Stack development/development management (Technologies: Java, Spring, AWS Cloud)
  • Experience with system automation, scripting, Chef, Puppet or similar
  • Experience with Cloud technologies, VMWare, AWS, or similar
  • Experience with Automated testing, continuous integration and delivery
  • Demonstrated experience with technology, architecture and design concepts, operating systems, database systems, computer networking, and security
  • Experience with open source frameworks and tools
  • Proven experience in Agile and DevOps software development philosophy, methodologies, practices, and procedures
  • Proven prior leadership experience and proven leadership skills in leading DevOps teams
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional groups, envision project goals and product architecture, and handle multiple deadline-driven projects
  • Must independently possess eligibility to work in the United States at date of hire; position ineligible for employment Visa sponsorship
