About the role

  • Assisting in the management of the Cetera model portfolios; monitoring risk and performance and satisfying regulatory requirements.
  • Work with performance reporting auditors to ensure the composite performance meets industry standards and is accurate.
  • Complete attribution analyses to explain the performance of the model portfolios against benchmarks and peers, examining security selection and asset allocation.
  • Compile monthly and quarterly factsheets and performance reporting of model portfolios.
  • Review and suggest model updates to the investment committee on an ongoing basis.
  • Prepare and maintain portfolio performance composites.
  • Create and maintain capital market assumptions (CMAs) for firm’s financial planning software.
  • Create and maintain economic and market dashboards and chartbooks.
  • Support Chief Investment Officer and Chief Market Strategist with economic and market research for media interviews and outlooks.
  • Present to the home office and advisors, providing current updates on the models, market outlook and department resources.
  • Author written marketing and educational collateral with periodic and ad hoc articles.
  • Respond to inquiries in the general research department inbox, providing assistance to advisors and home office employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics or a related field or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment consulting or a related field.
  • CFA designation.
  • Knowledge of the investment and strategy process.
  • Ability to construct and administer model portfolios.
  • Advanced knowledge of investment-oriented databases (e.g., Morningstar Direct, Envestnet, Factset).
  • Ability to measure performance and risk of different asset classes and make recommendations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Sound logic and reasoning with ability to ask the right questions and make informed decisions.
  • Must have the ability to work effectively independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Some experience interacting directly with financial advisors, investment committees, and similar internal and external clients is desirable.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 10%.
  • Finra Registration: No.
