About the role

  • Drive financial performance, support strategic decision-making, and ensure operational efficiency across a global footprint spanning R&D, manufacturing, and commercial distribution.
  • Performs and analyzes financial modeling, economic research, trends and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, and cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, financial planning and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements.
  • Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management.
  • Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis.
  • May provide analysis on business development and may monitor business performance by unit, division or group.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability to achieve organizational and operational goals.
  • Support strategic separation/IPO activities and financial transformation initiatives to position the standalone Diabetes business for long-term success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience (or 13+ years with an advanced degree), including 13+ years of managerial experience leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong operational finance expertise, including cost accounting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), and strategic decision support in a manufacturing or operational environment.
  • Experience driving financial performance in MedTech, life sciences, or complex manufacturing industries (preferred).
  • Expertise in operational finance areas such as supply chain finance, manufacturing analytics, and capital investments (preferred).
  • Deep understanding of global manufacturing operations, including cost optimization, inventory management, and gross margin improvement (preferred).
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced financial modeling tools (preferred).
  • Demonstrated success in leading financial transformation initiatives, including process improvements and system implementations (preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders (preferred).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience partnering with executive leadership and operations teams (preferred).
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate complex challenges and drive meaningful impact in a global organization (preferred).
  • Physical requirements: regularly required to be independently mobile, interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
