About the role
- Act as principal authority for safety and security across electrical and electronic systems
- Lead a team of engineers plus outsourced partners
- Define and embed functional safety and cyber security standards
- Oversee full functional safety and cyber security lifecycle
- Perform and guide hazard and threat analysis through to system-level verification
- Guide critical projects to ensure products are safe, compliant, and future-ready
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and represent the organisation on initiatives
Requirements
- Proven experience in safety and/or cyber security engineering (e.g. IEC 61508, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO/SAE 21434)
- Familiarity with homologation standards such as UN ECE R155 and R156
- Background in electrical/electronic system design, integration, and testing
- Experience from automotive, bus, coach, HGV, or other complex safety-critical environments (preferred)
- Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing outsourced partners
- Bonus: Formal certification as a Functional Safety or Cyber Security professional (e.g. TÜV Rheinland)
- Bonus: Experience with Siemens Polarion
- Bonus: Track record of representing organisation on cross-company or industry-wide initiatives
