About the role

  • Act as principal authority for safety and security across electrical and electronic systems
  • Lead a team of engineers and manage outsourced partners
  • Define and embed functional safety and cyber security standards
  • Oversee the full functional safety and cyber security lifecycle
  • Conduct hazard and threat analysis through to system-level verification
  • Guide critical projects to ensure products are safe, compliant, and future-ready
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders

Requirements

  • Proven experience in safety and/or cyber security engineering (e.g. IEC 61508, ISO 26262, ISO 21448, ISO/SAE 21434)
  • Familiarity with homologation standards such as UN ECE R155 and R156
  • Background in electrical/electronic system design, integration, and testing
  • Experience in automotive, bus, coach, HGV, or other safety-critical environments
  • Strong leadership, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills
  • Formal certification as Functional Safety or Cyber Security professional (e.g. TÜV Rheinland) (desirable)
  • Experience with Siemens Polarion (desirable)
  • Track record of representing organisation on cross-company or industry-wide initiatives (desirable)
