About the role
- Sr. Corporate Counsel providing strategic legal advice and support for various business functions at LexisNexis Risk Solutions. Collaborating with teams on commercial agreements, regulatory matters, and international expansions.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex B2B commercial agreements (SaaS, licensing, reseller, master services, and data privacy/security)
- Create and update contract templates; provide guidance on escalations and high-priority negotiations
- Support the sales team throughout the customer lifecycle, from initial engagement through contract execution
- Advise on regulatory, data privacy, marketing, and competition issues impacting current and prospective products
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align commercial terms with legal standards and business goals
- Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and post-acquisition integration
- Support international expansion initiatives and related compliance needs
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including training and contract governance processes
- Manage escalations, resolve customer legal inquiries, and drive efficient solutions
- Coach and mentor lawyers and legal staff to support professional growth
- Contribute to departmental efficiency by developing and implementing administrative and reporting measures
Requirements
- J.D. or equivalent law degree; licensed to practice law in the United States
- 10+ years of corporate law department experience, preferably in-house
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
- Proven ability to assimilate legal, business, and technical issues to make sound decisions
- Strong integrity, business ethics, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
- Willingness to travel as needed (low to moderate travel anticipated)
