About the role

  • Junior Legal Enforcement Counsel assisting Prodigy Finance's legal team with arbitration and enforcement processes. Collaborating on settlements, pleadings, and managing external counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Prodigy’s in-house legal enforcement team with managing the end-to-end legal enforcement process
  • Draft arbitral pleadings and submissions to remote arbitration in London
  • Liaise with arbitrators and manage the entire arbitral process
  • Negotiate settlements and payment plans with delinquent borrowers
  • Manage external local counsel in multiple jurisdictions
  • Provide ad hoc support to the wider Prodigy legal team

Requirements

  • Admitted lawyer qualified in South Africa
  • ~5 years of legal experience at a law firm, ALSP, or in-house at a bank
  • Strong litigation and/or arbitration experience
  • Resilient, proactive, and capable of working autonomously
