About the role
- Senior Accountant responsible for managing global accounting and Accounts Payable in fast-paced environment. Collaborating with teams to ensure compliance and process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day accounting under HGB and IFRS (AP, AR, assets, banking).
- Ensure accurate and transparent monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
- Drive process improvements and automation across accounting and reporting to support scaling operations.
- Establish and document clear standards, workflows, and internal controls for all entities.
- Oversee intercompany reconciliations and cross-border transactions (Germany / US).
- Serve as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external accounting partners.
- Take global ownership of Accounts Payable — managing vendor payments, process optimization, and system integration (e.g., NetSuite, Moss, Ramp).
- Partner with the Director FP&A and Finance team to deliver meaningful financial insights and reports for management and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (or certified accountant qualification).
- 7+ years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in an international and fast-moving environment (startup/scale-up, Big4, or industry).
- Deep expertise in HGB and IFRS.
- Strong track record in closing and audit processes.
- Passion for creating clarity, transparency, and well-structured processes.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and improve accounting workflows.
- Skilled with ERP/accounting systems (DATEV, NetSuite, or similar).
- Excellent English and German communication skills.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and proactive with a hands-on mentality.
