About the role

  • Lead the grid connection strategy
  • Develop a current and forward-looking view of grid connection constraints (HTA/MV and HTB/HV) and their impacts on projects and the Group’s trajectory
  • Define and implement strategies to reduce the risk of long and costly connections across the Group’s portfolio, working closely with the Development Department (for example, assess the opportunity to invest in private primary substations in certain locations)
  • Conduct studies to optimize connections for large projects
  • Propose design modifications for projects (designs, sizing, equipment selection, storage integration, etc.) to account for connection constraints and opportunities
  • Monitor developments and maintain technical and regulatory expertise on connections, anticipating changes to support the Group’s renewables and storage development, engineering and construction teams
  • Continuously improve internal connection processes: tools and methods for per-project risk assessment, sizing and costing, pre-study and connection request processes with DSOs/TSOs (GRD/GRT), etc.
  • Participate in information and working groups on connections (notably within renewable energy associations)
  • Maintain and coordinate a network of key stakeholders on the subject, particularly within DSOs and TSOs (and also engineering consultancies, suppliers, etc.), to inform monitoring and facilitate project connections

Requirements

  • Engineering degree
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in grid connection or electrical engineering within renewables or storage
  • Strong knowledge of the French power system, public investment frameworks (S3R, etc.), and Enedis and RTE connection procedures
  • Familiarity with network capacity information sources (Capareseau, ETF, Enedis Open Data, etc.)
  • Experience with simulation software such as PSS®E and DIgSILENT PowerFactory is a plus
  • Excellent data analysis, problem-solving and synthesis skills
  • Strong coordination, reporting, decision-facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Forward-looking mindset: ability to anticipate regulatory and technological developments
  • Good written and spoken English

Benefits

  • 1 to 2 days of remote work per week
  • Teamstarter: an interactive employee-driven project platform funded by the company (examples: organic soap making, football tournament, beach clean-up, etc.)
