About the role

  • Lead the launch and growth of the Baden-Württemberg organization in alignment with corporate strategy and local initiatives
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and project execution, ensuring delivery of local KPIs and contribution to global objectives
  • Provide strong technical leadership and drive innovation in semiconductor, chiplet, and packaging technologies for the automotive sector
  • Foster a culture of creativity and innovation, enabling breakthrough ideas to address industry challenges
  • Manage and inspire high-performing teams, ensuring operational excellence, staff development, and research impact
  • Represent the organization with key stakeholders across industry, academia, and local/national authorities
  • Report to the VP Automotive and collaborate closely with the senior leadership team of the global R&D matrix and the executive team to ensure strategic alignment and resource planning
  • Based in Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg (Germany); partial remote work possible but regular on-site presence required

Requirements

  • PhD in engineering or a relevant field
  • 10+ years of experience in fabless, semiconductor manufacturing, or R&D environments
  • 5+ years of proven leadership managing a mid-size site within the semiconductor or microelectronics industry, ideally in an international context
  • Strong expertise in semiconductors, microelectronics, and advanced R&D
  • Experience managing German and EU-funded research projects, from proposal to completion
  • Working knowledge of automotive chip design or automotive sensing (plus)
  • Up-to-date awareness of the latest industry and technology developments
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong track record of success in research and innovation
  • Ability to judge problem situations, set priorities, and act with flexibility
  • Excellent leadership skills; capable of inspiring and managing high-level innovative teams
  • Strategic and collaborative mindset, with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Customer-focused and diplomatic
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Position based in Heilbronn, Baden-Württemberg (Germany) with regular on-site presence required (partial remote possible)
